JOB DESCRIPTION SUPPLEMENT
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PERFORMING ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
I. MACHINES, TOOLS, & EQUIPMENT USED IN THIS POSITION:
Worker is required to use two or more of the following on a regular basis: school bus, large truck or van; telephone/other voice communication devices; cleaning tools such as broom or vacuum cleaner; personal safety devices such as back brace and/or safety belt; other specialized equipment typically used in large, motorized vehicles.
II. PHYSICAL EXERTION REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
MEDIUM WORK: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. In an emergency, worker may be required to restrain a physically active individual as a temporary safety precaution..
III. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY DURING A TYPICAL DAY:
A typical day’s activities include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, bending, climbing, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, and reaching; good hand and leg dexterity/coordination, normal visual acuity with good peripheral vision (with or without corrective glasses), hearing, talking, and firm grasping are also required to carry out essential functions.
IV. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoors and outdoors. Worker is subject to both conditions with work occurring both inside and out.
The worker is subject to noise at such levels as to require shouting and/or loud talking in order to be heard.
TYPICAL JOBS:
Jobs requiring the activities described above may include the following: Bus Driver, Truck Driver, Bus Aide; Driver Trainer; or other jobs involving similar physical activity.
